She brings a human-centered, forward-thinking approach to building scalable operations that support sustainable growth without sacrificing purpose or well-being.
Mr. Willie L. Dorsey
Willie Dorsey is a K–12 educator and community builder whose work centers on education, family support, and youth development. As the founder of W.L. Dorsey Family Tree House, he creates spaces where families, vendors, and communities thrive together.
Mr. Dwight Thomas
Dwight Thomas is a Florida Licensed Private Investigator and owner of a full-service P.I. agency offering investigative services, security, notary, fingerprinting, and background checks. He is also an entrepreneur, nonprofit founder, and business owner whose experience strengthens Raising the Barr’s mission to support sustainable small businesses.
Dr. Te’Aira Melvin
Dr. Te’Aira Melvin is the CEO of M&J Financial Management, where she helps individuals and businesses achieve financial stability through education and strategy. With a Doctorate in Business Administration specializing in Finance, she brings deep expertise in financial literacy and small business development to the board.
Mr. Marlando D. Pridgen
Marlando Pridgen is a rural economic development advocate and nonprofit leader dedicated to strengthening communities across Southeastern North Carolina. His work focuses on food equity, workforce readiness, and helping entrepreneurs overcome barriers to long-term business success.
Mrs. Debbie Stephenson
Debbie Stephenson is a community-focused leader committed to service, integrity, and organizational growth. Her dedication to empowering individuals and strengthening local communities supports Raising the Barr’s mission of economic opportunity and resilience.
Mrs. Pamela Young-Jacobs
Pamela Young-Jacobs is a nationally respected leader in community and economic development with more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and small business support. She is the first Native American woman to serve as CMO at Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina and the first female Assistant Chief of the Waccamaw Siouan Tribe.
Mrs. Brianna Covington
Brianna Covington is an IT and healthcare technology professional with expertise in network operations, health informatics, and systems leadership. Her experience building scalable, data-driven solutions supports Raising the Barr’s focus on operational excellence and sustainable growth.
